International multi-stakeholder consensus statement on clinical trial integrity.

CONCLUSION: Implementation of this international multi-stakeholder con- sensus will contribute to the enhancement of clinical trial integrity.

Effect of Maternity-Led Pro-Fertility Lifestyle Intervention on Health Promoting Behaviors of Women undergoing Infertility Treatment

CONCLUSION: Improving infertile couples' lifestyles resulted in improved performance, higher quality of life, and lower health-care costs. Aim of the study: Assess the effects of a maternity-led pro-fertility promoting lifestyle intervention on the improvements of health-promoting

Triple-arm trial of pH (Tri-pH) effect on live birth after ICSI in Egyptian IVF facilities: protocol of a randomised controlled trial.

CONCLUSION: One potential stressor that can affect preimplantation and postimplantation embryonic growth after in vitro fertilisation (IVF) is the pH of the human embryo culture medium, but no evidence exists to indicate which pH level is optimal for IVF

Clinical, Hormonal, and Metabolic Parameters in Women with Subclinical Hypothyroidism and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Cross-Sectional Study.

CONCLUSION: Women with PCOS and SCH are more likely to have impaired FPG values and impaired insulin sensitivity even after adjusting for age and BMI. Hence, close monitoring of PCOS patients for SCH may be beneficial. Keywords: polycystic ovary syndrome, subclinical hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, impaired fasting glucos.

The Impact of Training Residents on the Outcome of Robotic-Assisted Sacrocolpopexy.

CONCLUSION: Objective. To evaluate the surgical outcomes of robotic-assisted sacrocolpopexy (RASCP) before and after the incorporation of hands-on training for urology and gynecology residents. Study Design. Forty-one patients underwent RASCP between December 2008 and March 2010 with one surgeon. RASCP was performed in the context of surgical repair of complex pelvic organ prolapse and/or stress urinary incontinence.

fertilization Studies demonstrate that cervical mucus scores at time of ovulation predict fecundability among couples attempting to conceive natu- rally

CONCLUSION: One hundred and seventy nine women contributed 321 IUI cy- cles during the study time period. One hundred eighty cycles (56%) had documented CM type and were included in our analysis.

Impact of 3.5% O2 culture on embryo development and clinical outcomes: a comparative study

CONCLUSION: Culturing human embryos, continuously from day 0 to 5 or 6, in 3.5% O2 concentration is associated with significantly lower blastocyst formation rate and clinical outcomes parameters, but rather with significantly higher rates of fertilization and cleav- age. Whether these findings hold true for other patient populations and culture media brands remain unknown. (Fertil Steril 2017;108: 635–41. 2017 by American Society for Reproductive Medicine.)

Prevalence of abnormal glucose metabolism in a cohort of Arab women with polycystic ovary syndrome

CONCLUSION: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common metabolic disorder characterized by ovulatory dysfunction and hyperandrogenism. It is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age and affects more than 10% of women worldwide,

Humid versus dry incubator: a prospective, randomized, controlled trial

CONCLUSION: In this study, human embryos cultivated ex vivo in a dry incubator had statistically significantly decreased implanta- tion and clinical and ongoing pregnancy rates. Our findings indicate the need for larger multicenter, randomized, controlled trials.

Cytokines hold promise for human embryo culture in vitro: results of a randomized clinical trial.

CONCLUSION: Integration of cytokines into human embryo culture media showed improvement in embryological and clinical out- comes after ICSI. However, the long-term effect of cytokine enrichment of a medium is still unclear and warrants further studies with longitudinal follow-up.

A randomized controlled trial of laser- assisted ICSI

CONCLUSION: Compared to conventional ICSI, LA-ICSI increased rates of oocyte survival and some aspects of embryo devel- opment but it did not alter the ongoing pregnancy rate; after adjusting for oocyte survival, there was no beneficial effect of LA-ICSI on em- bryo development and utilization.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome in Adolescents

CONCLUSION: PCOS is a syndrome, not a disease, and it may have sev- eral different etiologies with a final common pathway. Even the definition and diagnosis are still controversial. PCOS was first described by Stein and Leventhal in 1935 [24]. They made their diagnosis of PCOS when patients with amenorrhea and infertility were seen to have enlarged ova- ries at surgery.

Frequency and types of uterine anomalies during caesarean section

RESULTS : During the period of study, 702 caesarean sections were per- formed. Forty-nine were excluded (21 cases were excluded due to patient refusal, 3 due to the presence of dense adhe- sions during caesarean and 25 due to pregnancy by assisted reproductive technique and/or recurrent miscarriage).

The Impact of Training Residents on the Outcome of Robotic-Assisted Sacrocolpopexy

RESULTS :Patient Characteristics. Forty-one patients with stage III/IV prolapse underwent RASCP between December 2008 and March 2010. The first 20 patients were performed exclusively by the attending surgeon (Group I) and the following 21 patients’ surgeries were performed by urology or gynecology residents (group 2).

Comparison of diabetes mellitus and insulin resistance screening methods for women with polycystic ovary syndrome

CONCLUSION: Women with PCOS should be screened for Pre-DM and DM using GTT or HbA1c, and those with Pre-DM or DM are presumed to have IR. In the rest, IR can be detected using either HOMA or insulin levels. (Fertil Steril 2011;96:1043–7. 2011 by American Society for Reproductive Medicine.)

Modulation of Telocytes in Women with Preeclampsia: A Prospective Comparative Study

CONCLUSION: PE is associated with significantly low number of placental TCs interestingly with low number of EVTs. Further studies are needed to support our findings.

Outcome of Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) using Cryopreserved Testicular Sperm from Azoospermic Infertile Men with Varicocele

CONCLUSION :Pregnancy outcome following ICSI was significantly reduced on using cryopreserved testicular sperms from infertile men with varicocele associated NOA. Future research is warranted to study whether this selected category of patients would benefit from varicocele repair before recommending ICSI.

Androgen Excess

CONCLUSION: The most important goal is to avoid delaying the diagnosis of a reversible and potentially malignant cause of androgen excess. These are primarily ovarian and adrenal tumors. Many of the virilizing effects of androgen excess are irreversible (eg, male pattern baldness, lower voice), so careful follow-up and early diagnosis of reversible causes is important.
